Prison Ministry

Have you been questioning where you could serve in the Kingdom?  Consider becoming part of the army of volunteers with Prisoners for Christ Outreach Ministries (PFC).  PFC was started in 1989 with the sole function of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the jails, prisons, and juvenile institutions of the nation as well as the world.  Last year (2014) PFC had over 1,350,000 inmates that came to its sponsored church services and Bible studies world-wide with over 306,000 inmates that made decisions for Christ.  We seek to reach the lost and hurting behind bars through the healing and saving power of God’s grace.

Prison ministry may seem intimidating at first, but once you get past the security guards and fences, it is very much like a small church service inside.  Many of our volunteer’s come away feeling more ministered to than they have actually ministered.  Prison ministry is a dynamic ministry that is both challenging as it is rewarding.  God is doing a wonderful work in the lives of inmates all around the world. Prison ministry is an extremely rewarding and a satisfying experience.

The Lord is raising up an army of believers all around the world to be His hands and feet.  Anyone can do Prison Ministry!  You don’t have to be a theologian or be of certain “spiritual maturity.”  All that is required is a wholehearted commitment and a love for the lost.

Team Players

Prison Ministry is very flexible.  You can commit to as much or as little as you would like.  Most of our prison services are on a monthly basis and are on a Saturday or Sunday evening.  Jail services are weekly on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  Teams  alternate every other week.

Our Commitment to You

We want to ensure your success as a volunteer, help promote your spiritual growth, and equip you with the most skills possible.

Training

One of the ways we do this is through training we provide twice a year called PFC-University.  We do require all new volunteers attend a basic training course, but after that there are several other elective courses to choose from that are greatly beneficial as well. If you live out of state, log online at www.pfcom.org go to the training tab, then to online courses and select from our list of training courses that meet your needs.

Staff Support

Our Volunteer Placement Coordinator is always here to assist you and serve as your liaison.  Whether you are in the State of Washington or outside the state connect today and get the process going. If you have any questions or comments, just contact Penny at penny@pfcom.org.

Thank you so much for your interest and willingness to serve.  We look forward to partnering with you to serve God’s kingdom!
